Introduction (Part 1): Have I Seen All The Evidence?

WELCOME

“You know, there isn’t much more that can be said about the subject of God’s existence. I’ve heard every argument on both sides of this issue. People who believe in God just don’t have any evidence to back up their belief. Atheists have them on the defensive because they’re on the side of science, while theists depend on scripture and just operate on faith.”

If that’s what you genuinely believe, you’ve come to the right place. What if we told you that every statement in that first paragraph is false?

Welcome to A Reason To Believe.org. There’s no more important subject than whether God exists or not, and there’s no better place to discuss that subject than right here and right now.

Just in the last 40 years, there have been some amazing scientific discoveries that seem like God is pulling the curtain back and revealing just a tiny bit of himself. We look forward to sharing those discoveries with you in future blog posts. Take a dive with us and we’ll show you!

The fact is there’s a whole lot more that can be said about this subject. Have you heard all the evidence? We don’t think so!

People who believe in God’s existence have logical and scientific evidence to back up their claim. Atheist professors might have their freshman students on the defensive, but that’s not the case on this website.

LAYPEOPLE CAN COMMUNICATE IN SIMPLER TERMS

There’ll be a little science, but we’re not scientists! The folks writing for this website are laypeople with an interest in science.

There’ll also be a little bit of logic, but we’re not professionals in that area either! We think this will be an advantage as we try to explain things in terms that are easy to understand.

In discussing whether God exists or not, A Reason To Believe.org uses an approach called “natural theology.” This just means that we base our rationale on observations of the physical world, science and logic.

Guess what? We’re not theologians either! So our explanations are for the average person who doesn’t know much about theology.

Please feel free to submit your questions or thoughts in the Comments section.

We would love to have a conversation. We’d like to show you why we believe there is a God.
